Mark your calendars! The OAA is kicking off the registration for its annual Conference in May with a special event to set the stage for this year’s theme, Inspiring Climate Action.
Celebrated climate scientist, writer, and speaker, Katharine Hayhoe, will be giving a FREE virtual Keynote presentation on Tuesday, March 22 at 1:00 pm, sharing her take on the climate crisis and how she bridges the gap between science and stakeholders.
Hayhoe’s work focuses on understanding what climate change means for people and the places where we live. She is the Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy and a Horn Distinguished Professor and Endowed Professor of Public Policy and Public Law in the Department of Political Science at Texas Tech University. Hayhoe hosts the PBS digital series Global Weirding and her book, Saving Us: A Climate Scientist’s Case for Hope and Healing in a Divided World, was released in September 2021. Among her many accolades, Katharine has been named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People, the United Nations Champion of the Environment, Foreign Policy’s 100 Leading Thinkers, and FORTUNE Magazine’s World’s Greatest Leaders.
For OAA members, 1.0 hours of Structured Learning will be uploaded to your Continuing Education Transcript on your behalf if you register with this link: OAA Member Registration.
The Zoom link will be emailed directly to you on Monday, March 21 and posted on the OAA Website for the public to use.
